Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Here at Premier Student Housing, we are taking steps to promote a safe community for the benefit of our staff and community members alike.

Premier is closely monitoring guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and other government entities to keep up to date on the ever-changing situation.

At this time, we have implemented numerous initiatives at our properties in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, including but not limited to:

  • Temperature checking in residents upon moving in, and making sure the questionnaire is filled out and asking everyone to wear a mask
  • Enhancing our already rigorous cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitation protocols
  • Stopping all showings of the resident occupied apartments
  • Limiting access to our leasing and staff offices and communicating by phone and email whenever possible
  • Ensuring every resident and Premier team member has access to the CDC website and the guidelines to follow including how to quarantine and how to promote staying safe as much as possible in a shared living environment
  • Allowing residents to shift furniture to allow for a sick resident to quarantine themselves alone in a bedroom if they can not quarantine offsite with their own bathroom (if possible) Residents may quarantine off-site at their own expense. Residents are not required to inform Premier or the community if they have COVID-19 or are feeling sick.
  • Residents may quarantine offsite at their own expense (CDC recommends not using public transport or rideshare for transportation methods in this scenario)
  • Premier sends out move-in instructions and asks all residents to book a move in time as we stagger arrival times and ask all residents to not let any housemates in upon arrival unless they have their own key from Premier only which is not onsite as we want to temperature check and have the questionnaire filled out prior from each student arriving
  • Promoting responsible personal hygiene practices in common areas including proper handwashing and covering coughs or sneezes and wearing a mask
  • Providing flexibility for team members who may feel ill so they can stay home instead of coming to work

Premier has specific protocols in place to prepare for a wide range of potential scenarios, including residents who may be diagnosed with Coronavirus (COVID-19) and for those who are self-quarantining we may or may not have overflow properties available so we ask residents to have a backup plan of where they can properly quarantine according to CDC guidelines.

In the meantime, we will continue to do all that we can to support our residents, fellow team members, and communities. Please be sure to keep up to date at www.cdc.gov and visit their section also on shared housing for more information.
